What are slideshows?

Slideshows are pictures on your wallpaper that keep changing (unlike stand-alone static pictures) at regular intervals in a slideshow-like manner.

Slideshows can display:
  • pictures or entire folders containing pictures on your computer
  • photos from an online photo albums.
  • real-time webcam feeds (image webcams), such as weather or traffic cams. There is a great variety of webcams to choose from at www.mybetterdesktop.com website.

Within layout designer, pictures that are in fact serving as slideshows are marked with a play symbol in the upper left corner of the image.

Click on the play button in the layout designer to advance to the next picture. If the slideshow is a webcam it will update itself to the most current view.

Slideshows can be local or remote (also sometimes referred to as web slideshows or on-line slideshows). The two types were created purely to underline the distinction that local channels never access anything online. They are powered purely by the pictures found on your computer. They can be converted to on-line channels by adding online content at a later time.
